How to set up my @ULB email adress on my smartphone or on my Android tablet?

This article does not apply to @ulb.be email adresses (O365)

Depending on the device, the words can change a bit.

  1. Go in the "Settings";
  2. Select "Users & Accounts" or "Accounts";
  3. Select "Add account";
  4. Select the account that contains  "(IMAP)" or "(POP3)". We recommand IMAP as it allows the user to synchronyze their emails. The following procedure is based on an IMAP choice;
       
  5. Enter the @ULB email adress (firstname.lastname@ulb.ac.be) and click on the "Next" button in the lower right corner of the screen;
  6. Enter the password linked with the @ULB email adress and click on the "Next" button;
     
  7. In the section "Incoming server settings":
    • Enter the username linked with the @ULB email adress (ex: jdupont);
    • Enter the password linked with the @ULB email adress and the username;
    • Under "Server", enter the following server name: ulb.ac.be ;
    • Click on the "Next" button;
  8. An alert box "Email security not guaranteed" pops up. Select "Edit settings";
     
  9. In the section "Incoming server settings":
    • Enter the username and the password again;
    • Under "Server" , enter the following server name: imap.ulb.ac.be ;
    • Under "Port", enter the following numbers: 993 ;
    • Under "Security type", select "SSL/TLS" or "TLS" in the scrolling menu;
    • Click on the "Next" button;
  10. In the section "Outgoing server settings":
    • Enter the username and the password again;
    • Under "SMTP server", enter the following server name: smtp.ulb.ac.be ;
    • Make sure that the "Require sign-in" option is checked;
    • Click on the "Next" button;
  11. The "Account options" appear. Set up the preferred options and click on the "Next" button;
  12. "Your account is set up and emails are on their way!" appears. Click on the "Next" button;
     
The @ULB email account is set up in the device. Find it in the device's email app.
